A stunning resort for everyone, Moonah Links Golf Resort offers a perfect weekend away whether you like golf or not.
Moonah Links is situated on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, in the middle of wine country. It's about an hour and a half drive out of Melbourne. Accessible public transport is not really available.
The resort itself is impressive. There's virtually no barrier anywhere on the property. All outdoor roads are paved to accommodate golf buggies, so no steps whatsoever. Clubhouse, restaurants, function rooms are all brilliantly designed for perfect wheelchair access as well. Not to mention accessible toilets scattered around the resort.
If you fancy staying the night, they have got the perfect suite for you. The rooms are huge. The furniture are spaced out really well and the luggage rack is at the perfect height for wheelchair users too.
The suite's bathroom is simply top class. It's neat and spacious, with all the accessible settings like bottomless basin, hand rails next to the toilet and shower, a no barrier roll in shower, hand held shower head and big lever hot/cold mixer water tap. And of course, both a portable shower chair and a big wall mount shower bench.
Now listen! Can you hear the sound of silence? If this isn't the definition of relaxing I don't know what is.
The food and drinks selections are good for a golf resort and so are the services. Whether you like playing golf or not, this is a nice place to spend a weekend and relax. Especially taken into account the hot spring nearby and sparking starry sky at night, I'm tempted to give it 5/5.
